About

Although I was born in Texas, I lived for a significant time on the east coast including thirteen years in New York City.  I have traveled around the world and I welcome people of all ethnicities, sexual/gender orientation and religious or non-religious preferences.   I completed my undergraduate degree at New York University where I pursued education and teaching.  While student teaching at an inner city school in New York City, I discovered how much children need emotional support and nurturing.  Wanting to help them in other ways, I choose to pursue counseling.  I went on to achieve a Master’s Degree in Psychology from The New School and a Master’s in Social Work from New York University.  I am a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Central Austin, Texas.

My career has led me to work with children and their family’s ages five to eighteen, senior adults in an intensive outpatient setting, psychiatric inpatient, as well as dialectical behavior therapy intensive outpatient program. Through my experience I have seen and worked with a variety of diagnoses including major depression, anxiety, panic, bipolar disorders, eating disorders, psychosis, and chemical dependency.
